Privacy statement
OurDomain is a static information site. It has no accounts, no forms and no tracking, and it collects no personal data from visitors.

What this site does
OurDomain publishes written explanation about domain names and nothing else. The pages are plain documents served as they were written. There is no login, no membership area, no comment facility, no newsletter signup and no contact form. Nothing on the site asks a visitor to enter information, and there is therefore no store of visitor information to protect, share or lose.
Analytics and advertising
No analytics service is used. Visits are not counted per person, no profile is built, no visitor is followed between pages or between sites, and no advertising is sold or displayed. No third party scripts are loaded, which means no external company receives a record of the visit as a side effect of the page being opened. The treatment of cookies is described separately in the cookie statement.
Server logs
Like any website, this one is delivered by a web server, and a web server records the requests it handles. Those records can include an internet address, the page requested and the time of the request. They exist so that the hosting can be kept available and abuse dealt with. They are not combined with other sources, not sold, and not consulted to build a picture of an individual.
The only route into OurDomain is an email to the address given on the contact page. A message sent there is read and kept until the matter it concerns is finished. The contents are not added to a mailing list, not passed to anyone else and not processed for any purpose other than replying. Anybody who wants a message deleted can ask, and it will be.
Links, rights and changes
A small number of pages link to sites run by other organisations, and once such a link is followed the policies of that site apply instead of this one. Since no personal data is collected here, there is normally nothing about a visitor to access, correct or erase; where an email exchange has taken place, the sender may ask what is held and ask for it to be removed. This statement will be updated if the site ever changes in a way that affects it.
